ARC 2011 Special Session

Special Session on Dynamic DSP Systems: Algorithms and Embedded Architectures

This special session is concerned with dynamic communications and signal processing systems e.g. Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) communications systems, where processing behaviour must change in real-time to counteract variations in the communications environment in which they are operating. In ideal terms, these systems would harness variable multi-antenna topologies, modulation schemes and detection algorithms of variable complexity, all at real-time. Achieving such a goal requires holistic design techniques that account for both the desired algorithmic performance and the limitations of the intended hardware platform. The focus of this session is to expose attendees to advances in algorithm design and embedded architectures and software design techniques for such scenarios.
